On Friday 29 November, SLS will be inviting schools to come in to discuss the 2019 SLA Information Book Award nominations in celebration of Non-Fiction November. The contenders are as follows:
Under 7s
Dogs in Space - Vix Southgate and Iris Deppe
- Hello, Horse - Vivian French and Catherine Rayner
- The Usborne Book of Night Time - Laura Cowan and Bonnie Pang
Ages 7-12
The Atlas of Heroes - Sandra Lawrence and Stuart Hill
- Joan Procter, Dragon Doctor: The Woman Who Loved Reptiles - Patricia Valdez and Felicita Sala
- Mary and Frankenstein - Linda Bailey and Júlia Sardà
- When the Whales Walked - Dougal Dixon and Hannah Bailey
In advance of the event, SLS Librarians will be speaking with groups in schools to discuss the shortlisted titles. The event, held at the Guille-Allès Library, will be a chance for students to come in and discuss what they think about the books, as well as find out who has won in each category. More information about this event will be sent to schools in due course.
